The Valhalla Collection
The Vikings reigned in a time of great upheaval. I've always been mesmerized by their power and savage beauty. Great conquerors, Viking men and women journeyed far and wide across the seas, giving birth to Europe as we know it today. The continent is infused with their mighty spirit—a dramatic, legendary force that still endures almost a millennia since their empire fell.
The Vikings' style does too: opulent, natural, earthy but lush, their necks adorned by jeweled amulets, shoulders crested by waves of majestic animal fur. How incredible, I thought, that a thousand years ago the Vikings' uncomplicated luxury was in tune with the tastes of modern women. That connection surprised and inspired me, but when I put pen to sketchpad, thinking about the strength and vitality of Viking women, it was no surprise I thought of all the commanding women I've known in my life.
These women bend but never break. They're bold, vivid, tenacious. They laugh and love and endure, drawing on a power that springs from deep within. And most importantly, they grab hold of opportunities at just the right moment—like sails on a ship, catching the winds of adventure.
